Atelier DAY 1

Be careful what you wish for, because now I have a workshop.

Empty internal brick wall

Here we go again with making decisions (flavour of the month), but these ones are exciting ones, of which I do not mind making one iota. It’s nice to enjoy the anticipation of it all after a bit of a fraught time.

I’ve taken a few pics of the place empty, to give you an idea of the canvas. I’ve so many ideas on how I’d like to arrange the space(s!), but I’ve no doubts I’ll get a better feel once I unpack my bindles and start working.

That doorway in the wall? Go through it, make a quick left and you’ll find a closed off room with a window. This is where I’ll take pics, make coffee and set up storage shelves.

I’ll be painting the wall white and turning that corner by the window into the photography area.

Currently, all of my equipment and materials are stashed behind this:

Our roller door is new and orange because the previous one literally fell off.

I’ve two weeks to move everything over, which should be plenty of time.

I’m also hoping to make a little sign in the next few weeks! It’ll go just to the right of the big door.

Tomorrow I’m visiting an auction house for surplus building materials. I’m specifically scouring for glass bricks, but I’ll be having a good snoop at whatever they have on offer.

Until next week, my friend.
